7-Day classic culture extravaganza & wildlife safaris

Welcome to Uganda, a country incredibly gifted by nature!

This safari will take you through a cultural extravaganza from central through to western Uganda. You will also have a treat of the wildlife as you enjoy the beautiful Uganda.

Day 1- Cultural Diversity Day

Day One: After an early morning breakfast, your driver will pick you from your hotel and you will embark on your trip heading to south western Uganda.

Stop over at the Equator at this imaginary line that dives the world into two hemispheres (Time for photo shoot & and a practical compelling experiment of seeing water swirl in two different directions.

Proceed and make another stopover at Igongo cultural museum for lunch and a detour of the museum for a true cultural extravaganza from the great stories, artefacts etc. Across the road from the museum is the imposing iconic “Biharwe Eclipse” monument, which was dated by astronomers and historians to have taken place in the year 1520 AD.

This was the only scientifically dated event in the early history of the Great Lakes region, the eclipse, which was acknowledged in the legends of Bunyoro, Buganda and Nkore, became the key benchmark that was used by historians to determine royal genealogies of those kingdoms.

Transfer to Nshenyi Cultural Village in Ntungamo via Mbarara town. Overnight at Nshenyi Village Farm Guest House/ Mbarara town/ Igongo/ Ntungamo for more cultural experinces.

DAY 2: Hiking and cow milking

Start the relaxed morning with breakfast of freshly milked cow milk. You can take part in the milking of the Ankole cows which milk will then be prepared for you.

Watch the rest of the milk being processed into traditional ghee then go for an uphill hike to visit farmers that harvest honey from the caves and rocks of surrounding hills.  Learn about traditional homestead crop cultivation and food processing.

DAY 4: Batwa community and cattle watering.

Breakfast and then take a short trip to the Batwa community for a session of hunting skills, stories and traditional dance performances. Proceed to the border with Rwanda. Have lunch and a short nap and then proceed to the watering area of the cattle.

In the evening, be treated to a Uganda cultural tour by a traditional dance group. Dinner and Overnight at Nshenyi Village Farm Guest House (FB)/ Mbarara town

DAY 5: Depart to Lake Mburo National Park.

After breakfast, depart for Lake Mburo National Park where we will embark on the wildlife segment of our tour after lunch.

Start off with a boat cruise after lunch where you will see the recently introduced giraffes translocated from Murchison Falls National Park. The park is home to 350 bird species, zebras, impala, eland, buffalo, oribi, Defassa waterbuck, leopard, hippo, hyena, topi and reedbucks. Proceed to Masaka for overnight at Hotel Brovad

DAY 6: Departure and Kampala night life.

After an early morning breakfast, transfer to Kampala with lunch en-route or packed. You can do some souvenir shopping at Exposure Africa or the National Theatre in the centre of the city during the free afternoon or enjoy some of the vibrant night life in Kampala in the evening depending on your flight schedules

DAY 7: Uganda Wildlife Education Centre

(Optional) proceed to Entebbe and visit the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre (UWEC) and have first-hand interaction with wild animals like giraffes in the sanctuary./ Visit Chimpanzee island sanctuary.
